Manik Gupta, Uber‘s Chief Product Officer, will step down from his position. According to media reports, his last day will be December 13.

In a LinkedIn post, Gupta said he was still bullish about Uber’s long term vision and would be “strongly cheering for team Uber from the sidelines.”

In a note to the Uber product team, Gupta wrote, “After a few discussions with Dara as well as with my family – and now that we’ve made it through the IPO and an important year for the company – I’ve made the tough decision to leave Uber.”

Manik Gupta joined the shared mobility provider company from Google in 2015 as a senior director of the maps and marketplace product team. He was elevated to Chief Product Officer in November 2018.
