700 Amrapali buyers still wait for papers

Noida: Around 700 buyers of Amrapali Sapphire I and Sapphire II have not yet been handed over their property documents by the district registrar’s office, despite having gone through the process to get their apartments registered. Officials, however, say the buyers will have to wait for another round of scrutiny by the court receiver.

“We have been patient for a very long time and now that we have finally gone through all the formalities, we would at least expect a legal document to prove our apartment ownership. We request the court receiver to understand the buyers’ frustration and release the legal documents,” said Ravi Kant, a Sapphire I buyer.

However, sub-registrar Veer Sen told TOI, “We have been instructed not to hand over the registration papers to the buyers. The papers will have to go through another round of scrutiny as the court receiver wants to be very sure of the authenticity of the ownership.”

The registration process for the 14,000 residents in multiple projects of Amrapali started in January. The buyers are, at present, signing up tripartite agreements with the Noida Authority and the court receiver, and then getting their properties registered at the district registrar’s office in Sector 33.
