In an effort to minimise the damage caused due to novel coronavirus, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar has decided to extend the lockdown till May 7, according to news agency PTI. However, the chief minister said that his cabinet will review the situation on May 5.

Lockdown and social distancing are the most potent ways to check the spread of Coronavirus. If society takes pledge to control 100%, it can be controlled, added KCR during his presser.

The CM also announced that the government has decided not to give any partial relaxations to lockdown from April 20- as announced by prime minister Narendra Modi in speech. The state also decided to ban services of Swiggy and Zomato in state till May 7th.

Telangana is ahead of other states in conducting COVID-19 diagnostic tests. No question of allowing private players to conduct COVID-19 tests. We have capacity to conduct 1,500 tests a day, said the CM during a press conference.
