WTF?! Most people fantasize about owning a 98-inch 4K television, but for those who think these giant sets simply don’t offer enough screen real estate, Samsung is offering a March Madness bundle that includes said TV alongside SEVEN more for a total of eight: the 98-inch 4K monster, three 65-inch models also with 4K resolutions, three 55-inch 4K sets, and one 65-inch TV with an 8K screen.
Samsung’s first-ever Buzzer Beater Bundle is timed to coincide with the NCAA’s March Madness tournament starting on March 18.
Samsung writes that with 32 overlapping games on in a day across eight networks and channels, basketball fans (presumably those with a large disposable income) who take advantage of the promotion will be able to stream every single match without having to sacrifice screen size, quality, or definition.
The largest screen in the bundle is the DU9000, a 98-inch Class Crystal 4K set. It’s currently reduced from its usual $2,500 price to $1,999 on Samsung’s website.
Next is a single QN900D. The Neo QLED set is the only 8K model in the collection. Normally $5,000 but currently down to $3,000, it’s also the most expensive TV of the bunch.
Buyers also get three QN85D TVs, 65-inch 4K models priced at $1,200 down from $1,900, and three 55-inch Q70D TVs, currently $749 down from $999. All six use Samsung’s LCD Quantum Dot technology.
Samsung writes that buying all the TVs in the bundle separately would normally cost a very specific $16,199.92, but the package is available for $10,307.42. That $5,892 saving works out as a 36% discount. You also get free shipping.
The bundle is a limited-time deal available only in the US until March 22.
“We often see fans creating their own DIY dual-screen setups to stream the tournaments, and take it from me as a huge LA sports fan – two TVs isn’t always enough!” said Lydia Cho, Head of Product, Home Electronics at Samsung Electronics America. “That’s why we created the Samsung Buzzer Beater Bundle to celebrate that super fandom and make game-watching bigger and better. Now, college basketball buffs can catch every pass, play and perfect swish in a single, one-of-a-kind package – and take it all in with great picture quality, thanks to the #1 global TV brand for 19 years running.”
Samsung remains the global leader when it comes to premium televisions, which covers QD-MiniLED, QD-LCD, NanoCell, LCD 8K, QD-OLED, WOLED, and MicroLED TV. It held a 29% share of shipments in Q4, though its slice of the pie is shrinking as TCL catches up. Samsung’s lead over its Chinese rival is even smaller when looking at overall global shipments for the quarter: 16% vs. 14%.
