BOOTS has launched a campaign called Little Boosts to help stressed-out people take a few minutes out of every day for relaxation.
It can make all the difference.
This week, we look at three products that might reduce some of the strains in your day and test primers to improve the look of your skin.
Not sure what to choose from the hundreds of vitamins, homeopathic products and herbs on the market? Then take a multivitamin.
Boots Re-Energise tablets (£8.99 for 60) contain vitamins B and C for energy and magnesium to reduce tiredness. They have a lovely orange taste and are easy to take. See boots.com.
Throughout the day
Simply burning a candle containing essential oils can keep nerves at bay.
Studies have shown vanilla fragrance reduces stress and anxiety, bergamot helps with tension and jasmine can be an antidepressant. Sanctuary’s Classic Fragranced Candle (£8.33) contains all three.
Buy it at boots.com.
Benenox Overnight Recharge (£9.45 for 100ml) contains honey, muscle nutrient Sustamine and Vitamin B6.
You take it at bedtime to reduce tiredness.
I tried the syrup for ten nights and didn’t feel as tired the next day. I preferred the honey and lemon flavour to blackcurrant. See benenox.com
Budget – Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
(£30 for 50ml, lauramercier.com)
This primer is formulated to minimise the appearance of fine lines and other imperfections without clogging pores.
It has a thin, creamy texture like moisturiser.
I found it really hydrating and the pinky tones brightened and evened redness.
This really did prep and prime – foundation went on so easily.
A great product at a great price.
Mid Range – The Hero Project Double Blur HD Ready Skin Perfector
(£24 for 30ml, theheroproject.co.uk)
Claims to create a noticeably uniform skin surface by filling fine lines and wrinkles with polymer microspheres as well as covering spots and pores.
It has a gel-like texture which created a silky, soft layer when applied.
The product really did blur imperfections and my skin looked infinitely better even before my foundation.
Worth every penny and I’ll be stocking up. My favourite.
Luxury – Benefit POREfessional Pearl Primer
(£27.50 for 22ml, benefitcosmetics.com)
This is the same formula as the classic POREfessional primer but with a hint of pearly pink.
This soft-radiance face primer has a light, paste-like texture which glides on smoothly.
It minimised pores and brightened my skin but it was not hydrating enough for me.
Foundation went on well after use but only when using it with lots of moisturiser.
