Rajinikanth Suffers Minor Injuries While Shooting For Bear Gryll's 'Man vs Wild'

Rajinikanth is the second Indian personality to be featured on ‘Man vs Wild’.

New Delhi:

Megastar Rajinikanth reportedly suffered minor injuries today when he was shooting for adventurer Bear Grylls’s survival show ‘Man vs Wild’. Sources say Rajinikanth suffered minor injury on ankle and bruises on his shoulder.

Rajinikanth is the second Indian personality to be featured on ‘Man vs Wild’ after Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared on the Discovery Channel programme last year in August.

Widely regarded as one of the most popular actors in South India, Rajinikanth – also known as Thalaivaa (leader) –  began shooting for the special episode today in Karnataka’s Bandipur National Park. The national park was established in 1974 as a tiger reserve under Project Tiger.

In a clip shared by news agency ANI, south star Rajinikanth was seen in a blue jacket and grey track pants and was seen carrying a cross-body bag.

Bear Grylls had hosted an episode of the popular show with PM Modi last year. The Discovery Channel programme saw PM Modi, 68, walking through the wild and taking a ride on a makeshift boat at the National Park in Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister also shared stories about his humble beginnings as a tea-seller’s son and his solo trips of spiritual awakening into the Himalayas in his youth.

Discovery Channel said the episode made record impressions, with the highest-ever reach for the infotainment genre with 6.1 million tune-ins.

“It was a huge privilege to take Prime Minister Modi on a journey. I’m a huge fan of the wilderness and the beauty of India, not just the terrain, but also the people. We’re coming back to India to do more this year,” Mr Grylls told IANS.
