Pep Guardiola explains why he’s a Tottenham fan before Liverpool

Pep Guardiola before Liverpool

Man City boss Pep Guardiola held an engaging press conference before Sunday’s Premier League match at Liverpool.

Can the Sky Blues keep their unbeaten run going?

After 22 league games, Man City have 20 wins and just two draws on the board.

Crystal Palace recently joined Everton as being the only EPL side to hold Man City to a draw this season.

Of course, facing Liverpool at Anfield should prove a daunting and difficult task for Guardiola’s men. Yet, when the sides met at the Etohad earlier in the season, Liverpool were beaten 5-0.

Man City boss confirms he’s a Tottenham fan

Prior to the Liverpool contest, Guardiola discussed which teams in Europe he’s a fan of.

The Man City manager gushed about Jurgen Klopp’s side. The Reds have one of the best attacks in European football this season.

But Liverpool face stern competition on the attacking front.

Guardiola confirmed he doesn’t miss Barcelona games as he revels watching the Catalans, and Leo Messi, play football.

Pep also name-checked Napoli as another side who he’s been watching closely this season.

While, returning to the Premier League, Guardiola waxed lyrical about being a fan of Tottenham as well. He said:

Tottenham can drop points. But always I see the games and see they play good.

You see the Tottenham statistics – always 25, 27 shots on target.

They always play high, they always try to make build ups. I’m talking personally – as a fan of football I like that.
