Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney and Sen. Cory Gardner hilariously trolled Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday for calling thousand dollar bonuses “crumbs.”

WATCH:

Mulvaney and Gardner didn’t call out the House Minority Leader by name, but during a Senate budget hearing they raved about the successes of tax reform and repeatedly bashed anyone who would call bonuses “crumbs.”

Gardner, a Republican from Colorado, asked Mulvaney to share with the Senate Budget Committee what happens when “people earn more money from a revenue standpoint.”

“It goes up,” Mulvaney asserted. “One of the things he mentioned was to look at the revenues, and one of the beneficial impacts of the tax bill is that the revenues are actually up on our projection versus the CBO baseline. In 2027 we project the government will take in more than $350 billion more.

“Surely this is more than just crumbs,” Gardner responded wryly.

“I have often wondered if a thousand dollars would be a crumb if it came in the form of a government check,” Mulvaney joked back.

Gardner kept the quips coming.

“If you’re looking at utility rate that may average $120 a month, that is the region we are in right here…you think that is crumbs?” he asked.

“I think it is not,” Mulvaney said.

“Do you think a minimum wage boost is crumbs?” Gardner continued.

“I do not,” Mulvaney replied.

“Do you think a salary boost is crumbs?” Gardner said.

“Only a very wealthy person from San Francisco would think that,” Mulvaney concluded, referencing Pelosi’s multi-million dollar net worth.
