According to Union Health Ministry‘s latest update, the death toll from Covid-19 in India has risen to 149. The total number of cases now stands at 5,194.
As of today, the cured/dischaged coronavirus patients in the country number 402.
The rise in numbers comes amid reports that the Centre could be looking at extending the India-wide lockdown beyond April 14 based on suggestions from many state governments and health experts.
Meanwhile, at 10 am today, the worldwide count stood at 1.43 million, with a total death toll of over 82,000. The hardest-hit countries were US (where almost 13,000 have died), Italy (over 17,000), Spain (over 14,000), among others.
