The company said that it was announcing the free upgrade as many people are working from homek, and fibernet access was an essential service to manage lives and businesses. Consumers could opt for this facility through the ACT app on the mobile device.

ACT chief executive Bala Malladi said in a note to customers that the firm’s technical staff would be working from home and take calls for online trouble-shooting. ”Our backend data centre team is working round the clock, taking adequate precautions like rotations of employees. We have built a robust contingency plan and business continuity plan in dealing with any eventuality – including quarantining our data centres and other critical assets, should that exigency arise,” he said.
