The number of Covid-19 cases in India crossed the 12,000 mark in the past 24 hours, data released by Union Health Ministry showed.
Total confirmed cases in the country now stand at 12,380, as per the govt database updated at 8 am today. As many as 414 have died from the disease so far, while 1,489 have been declared as cured/discharged/migrated.
The number of cases globally is well over 2 million now, with more than 1,37,000 dead till date. America accounts for the highest number of casualties at 28,399.
With the footprint of the virus widening in the country, there is an emergency meeting scheduled for today between the FM and the PM to discuss a second round of measures to save the economy.
Stimulus 2.0 will likely focus on small businesses, and will be unveiled as soon as it is finalised.
