Forty-nine people are now known to have been killed in two armed attacks on Christchurch mosques, in what Jacinda Ardern labelled “one of New Zealand’s darkest days”.

Scott Morrison said an Australian man massacred worshippers in an act of “extremist right-wing terrorism” which was streamed on the internet.
