Chandrababu Naidu holds hunger strike demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh



Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday began a day-long fast in Delhi, demanding that the Centre grant special status to the state and fulfil all promises made during Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation in 2014. Several Opposition leaders met him at Andhra Bhavan, the venue of the fast, to show support.

Congress’ Uttar Pradesh general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Lucknow on Monday afternoon for her first trip to the state after fomally joining politics last month. She participated in a roadshow, accompanied by party chief Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy had announced an inquiry by a Special Investigation Team to look into audio clips he had released last week.
