Walmart ruled the roost with the highest Black Friday 2018 sales figures of all major retailers, but the big-box store — which has had an increasingly dominant online presence in recent years — didn’t stop dishing out deals on Cyber Monday. It’s a safe bet to say that we can expect more of the same unstoppable flow of discounts at Walmart from Black Friday through Cyber Monday 2019 and beyond.
Walmart’s online Savings Center serves as a handy guide to shopping on the site 365 days of the year. If Walmart has your email address, you can also expect daily updates with links to price cuts and special offers within your specified categories of interest through the Savings Center. You don’t need to go to the Savings Center to locate Walmart deals online, of course, but it’s usually easier unless you’re keeping tabs on a specific product.
Walmart deals going on now
Walmart is known for running regular discounts on almost everything it sells, but on top of daily low prices, Walmart’s Savings Center also features price rollbacks, special buys, and clearance sales. If Walmart’s retail deals engine were a race car, it never coasts — the driver always has a foot on the gas. Sure, you’ll find Walmart’s best deals and sale prices on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but early shoppers can still count on finding Black Friday and Cyber Monday-level prices on select products every day leading up to the big blowouts. If you do notice an unbeatable price on an item on your must-buy list during the run-up to Black Friday, don’t hesitate because Walmart changes its teaser sale items frequently, usually after two or three days at most.
What to expect from Walmart
TVs, TVs, and more TVs. Walmart plays a large role during the Cyber Monday action with offers on iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, gaming consoles, gaming accessories, and lots of other tech gadgets that will be available throughout the week, but Walmart’s 4K smart TV deals have always been unsurpassed since last year with an unparalleled selection and almost always the best prices.
You may find a better price on a specific 4K TV model or two elsewhere, but Walmart’s selection is hard to beat. For the very best deals, be sure to buy a TV sold directly by Walmart, not from one of the third-party vendors that are also in Walmart’s TV sales listings (you can even totally filter out these third-party sellers in the sidebar on Walmart’s online storefront).
What Walmart did last Cyber Monday
Leading up to, during, and following Cyber Monday 2018, Walmart showed rapid responsiveness to the prices of items selling at other merchants (yep, we mean Amazon, mostly, but that also includes Best Buy and Target). We saw frequent changes in prices on Instant Pots and Google Home Mini smart speakers at Walmart, to name just two examples. When items sold out online, Walmart was quick to highlight other products, often making quick price adjustments to keep the traffic coming and to remain competitive against other retailers.
One of Walmart’s trump cards in the online sales game is local pickup. Local pickup works two ways for the retail giant: When you buy something online from Walmart (and not a third-party seller), you typically have the option of having it shipped to the store closest to you for pickup. Shoppers concerned about packages sitting on the front steps or porch until they get home from work, or those who already go to a local Walmart for things like groceries, might prefer to pick up their delivery at the store. Also, when stock is low or depleted online, sometimes a retail location close to your home still has the item in stock and you can order it online from the store’s inventory and then go pick it up right away. Every product listing on Walmart’s website points out local availability, if applicable, and the option of local store delivery.
