What to expect from Best Buy
Watching recent Best Buy sales and promotions, we’re certain the retailer will offer knockout deals on TVs and soundbars, laptops and tablets, video games and consoles including Xbox, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, headphones and earbuds, tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches on Black Friday. Best Buy may not have the deep selections of TV brands and models you’ll find at Walmart, for example, but select deals at Best Buy will be better than any other retailer.
Best Buy entices shoppers to show up early on Black Friday with doorbuster sales, offering extra-deep discounts on a limited number of brand name products. You’ll still find most of the best deals online at the retailer’s website.
Best Buy will likely price match their products with other retailers. Expect online prices to be valid throughout the weekend into Cyber Monday, with some even staying live during Cyber Week as long as inventory holds out. As in the past, we’ll check the Best Buy discounts to confirm that they are indeed great deals.
Best Buy Black Friday hours
Starting in 2011, along with Target, Kohls, and a few other stores, Best Buy began opening stores early for Black Friday. See below for Best Buy’s 2019 Black Friday store hours.
- Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving) — Doors open at 5 pm
- Friday, November 29 (Black Friday) — Doors close at 1 am and re-open at 8 am
What Best Buy did in Black Friday 2018
Best Buy was one of the earliest adopters of Black Friday promotions and continues to be one of the leading retailers in the event. The Best Buy chain was among the top five in overall sales during Black Friday 2018, driven by doorbuster deals that got shoppers in the doors and by fabulous sales on select products on their website.
Best Buy doesn’t share exact numbers, but the retail chain and the website moved vast quantities of 4K TVs, computers of all types, smartwatches, Apple products, and games, along with gaming consoles and accessories.
Keep checking back so you can plan your Black Friday route accordingly and take full advantage of all the great deals. Some of the sales at Best Buy in the weeks to come will have Black Friday-level prices, so don’t assume you have to wait.

In addition to the lead-up deals mentioned just above, Best Buy has already started Black Friday price protection on select premium TVs and home theater products for My Best Buy members. The program guarantees if their price goes lower on qualified items between now and Black Friday, Best Buy will send you a refund for the difference.
Best Buy Doorbuster Deals
For the first time, shoppers can access some doorbusters early with Daily Doorbusters. Starting this Monday, Nov. 11, one of the ad’s doorbusters will be unveiled each day – and will be available for that day only until it’s available again on Thanksgiving.
