In June end, the government banned 59 China-linked apps. These apps are said to have been blocked for “engaging in activities prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India.” The second list of 47 Chinese apps were banned on July 27. Many of these are ‘lite’ or ‘pro’ versions of the apps that the government banned earlier in June. More apps are likely to be blocked in the coming days. The government has served a list of 70-odd questions to these app makers which seek details on a variety of issues. Here are the names of 14 new apps that have been blocked.
